For this project in Wilmslow, Cheshire East, we created a series of exquisite pocket gardens, each screened yet seamlessly leading to the next. What was once a blank expanse of lawn overlooked by neighbours has been transformed into a stunning, private retreat for the clients and their dachshund, George.

To achieve this, we incorporated gabions—wire cages filled with stones—into our designs, adding a striking sculptural element. Unlike timber raised beds or brick walls, gabions bring a unique texture and depth to the space. Careful filling of the gabions was essential, our landscapers treated the process with the precision of building a dry-stone wall, which significantly enhanced the final aesthetic.

The garden’s transformation left the clients thrilled. "We couldn’t quite believe this could be our garden—we were blown away. We loved how it was divided into distinct areas yet still felt cohesive. It brought the entire project to life, and we couldn’t wait to get started."
