HOLL-ING-WORTH
LAKE

Creating a space that’s accessible to all the senses has been a deeply rewarding project.

This accessible sensory garden in Hollingworth Lake is designed to offer a rich, balanced sensory experience, welcoming visitors of all ages and abilities to connect with nature in their own way.

Throughout the garden, sensory elements come to life—plants and wind chimes add sound and movement, while sculptures, willow structures and an orchard invite touch. Sitting at the heart, the dome is a dynamic space where park rangers hosting events and classes that make the garden a hub for community learning and connection.

We’ve also built a woodland walk and wide stone pathways made from non-slip materials to ensure wheelchair users can explore with ease. While raised flower beds allow visitors to get up close to the plants, making gardening and exploration accessible to all.
