The property and garden sit atop the cliffs, overlooking Conwy Bay. Before the redesign, the garden didn’t fully take advantage of the stunning views across the bay, the Great Orme and Conwy Castle.

The vision was to remove the boundary hedge and create a floating cantilevered platform that would embrace the seascape. We also designed a set of connecting steps that, as you descend, give the impression of leading all the way down to the beach below.

 

To enhance the experience, we added a full glass wall to the seaward side of the hot tub enclosure, providing sheltered yet breathtaking views across the bay whilst relaxing. Additionally, suspended egg cup swing seats, framed by Corten steel, offer unique views of Conwy Castle across the bay.

 

Five years on, these pictures show how the plants have matured, with the garden gradually settling into its breathtaking setting.
